Rubén Durán founded the XR Lab/Studio and Reality Collab at Houston Community College in 2016. He was awarded the League of Innovation award 2018 as well as 4 New Media awards. He has presented at national and international conferences, including AWS Imagine, Educause, AACC Annual Conference, Kaltura Connect, and HBCU Tech Conference.

He is committed to growing faculty and student use of XR technologies, and collaborations where industry and HCC students can innovate for bettering the human experience.
